Getting around in Asia – all the modes of transport
Figuring out how to get from A to B and anywhere in between can be a bit of a mine field. Each place has it’s own rules, modes of transport and pricing structures. Here’s how we did it and a few things we learned along the way, hopefully making getting around in Asia a bit easier for you.
What to do on Gili T – The beautiful busy island
Most of our ‘things to do’ revolve around ‘what we’re going to eat’, but Gili T also offered some cool activities, which I wouldn’t miss.
Things to do in Ubud
As the art and cultural hub in Bali, there’s plenty to keep yourself entertained in Ubud for a good couple of days. Here’s what we did.
Ubud
We spent 3 nights just outside Ubud, then a further three nights in the heart of the town. Unless you’re planning on spending some time at a yoga retreat or finding yourself a detox centre, 3 days here should be plenty to explore the town and the countryside.
Gili Trawangan
Gili Trawangan or Gili T as it’s more commonly known is the biggest of the three Gili islands and the most developed. The main road at the front of the island where the ferries come in is lined with bars, restaurants and dive shops. This is where you’ll find the majority of the eating options, with only a handful more scattered across the island.
Our top places to visit in Lembongan
The island isn’t very big and a day is plenty to get around so hop on a scooter and check these spots out. We started with the Devil’s Tear.
Nusa Lembongan
We didn’t know too much about the island before getting there, only that it was beautiful and we should definitely make the stop on the way to the Gilis. We’re glad we did. Turquoise waters, golden sand and beachside bars made this place ‘the dream’.
